Create a nature journal page dedicated to the season. We'll take a wander on the boardwalk and surrounds to discover what’s happening in nature during Djeran, taking photos or making a nature arrangement to inspire our page. 

This family-friendly workshop will be full of ideas for how to record the season in your nature journal, such as perpetual journals. 

Ages 8+ recommended. BYO journal and drawing supplies, or use the provided materials.

Discover how to use nature journaling to learn more about the wonderful world around you and keep a lasting record of your experiences in nature. There will be a particular focus on the trees of Henley Reserve. Bring along a sketchbook or journal and any drawing materials (paper and pencils will also be provided) and learn the basics of nature journaling. This will include a walk to look at some of the trees in Henley Reserve.

All skill levels welcome, no artistic requirements! Watch a demonstration on how to create your own pages filled with writing, sketches and notes then explore a subject of your choice.

Due to time frame, workshop caters for 12 years and older. It is an outdoor activity, so wear enclosed shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. A hat and waterbottle.

This month let's focus on landscapes and painting en plein air, to celebrate the end of Plein Airpril. Don't worry if this is new to you - this is a great opportunity to have a go, ask questions and learn more about plein air or adding landscapes into your pages. Feel free to work on your own nature journaling project if you prefer instead. Come along for some casual fun outdoors with your journal and other like-minded people.

Location: Join us at Sorrento Beach where you can paint the coast, park and Hillary's Boat Harbour. Grab a coffee or snack from the shops before to energise you during the meetup, or after as a reward. ☕

What to expect: Explore the basics of landscape painting and using landscapitos in your nature journal. There will be time for personal nature journaling or painting en plein air. Some related books will be brought along too.

All skill levels are welcome. Children must be supervised at all times. Please register below if you plan to attend.

What to bring: A journal and your favourite mark-making tools. Some good walking shoes (or swimming gear if you're brave!), a water bottle and maybe a snack. Remember to slip-slop-slap-wrap if the sun's out, or an umbrella and raincoat if there's a chance of rain.

Cost: This is a pay-what-you-feel event. The suggested donation is $10/per individual and $20/per family, but it is up to you. Your support goes towards costs of running the nature journal club and is very much appreciated.
